DIY Home Acai Bowl Recipe
Acai Bowls have been round for a while now and I don’t see them going out of fashion any time soon.
I remember trying my very first one in a little organic cafe/coffee shop in Hawaii almost 5 years ago!
What I love about them is they just don’t taste amazing, they are also jam-packed full of nutritional brilliance.
Acai Berry’s are from Brazil and look very similar to the Blueberry. These little berries are full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids.
Acai berries are also immune boosting, they improve energy levels, metabolic function and are said to benefit heart health.
I have put together a simple recipe adding our Coconut Whey Protein Blend the added protein and good fats will help you stay fuller for longer and ensure you are getting all the nutrients your body needs for optimal health.
What you need..
2 packs certified organic frozen Amazonia Açaí Pure (low sugar and fructose)
1 X frozen banana
100ml (approx.) coconut water
1/2 cup natural granola or muesli of choice (mix of seeds and nuts)
Handful toasted coconut flakes
Handful of chopped fruit of choice (strawberries, passionfruit, banana, blueberry are delish!)
Optional: pure honey or natural sweetener of choice
How to do it..
Combine Açaí, banana and coconut water in a blender and blitz until thick and smooth. (run the frozen Acai under warm water to soften or as directed on packet)
Layer a bowl with a few tbs of the granola, than gently pour the Acai mixture into the bowl. Decorate with fresh fruit, the remaining granola and toasted coconut flakes. Enjoy a drizzle of pure honey if desired.
TIPS: For added protein, blend with a RAW protein. For added good fats, add a small handful of almonds or mixed nuts. For a boost of greens, add a handful of fresh kale or spinach.
